The final Project meeting in Kursenai is over!
It left the most wonderful impressions on all of us
and it was so sad to say good-bye to all of you! But "Friends will be
Friends" and we do hope that we will be able to continue our nice friendship
and cooperation!

The project "Our Living Environment: Today
- Yesterday - Tomorrow" was selected among 20 "Best of Success Stories" and
presented in the brochure
"Comenius: Success Stories - Europe Creates Opportunities" published by
European Commission and presented in the opening ceremony of the Lifelong
Learning programme in Berlin May 6-7th.
Member of the European Commission
responsible for Education, Training, Culture and Youth Jan Figel noted that
these "school partnerships have contributed to the aims of lifelong learning
and the improvement of school education. They created links between schools,
pupils and teachers".
That is a great acknowledgement to our
project and our cooperation!

The project canvas finally arrived in Lithuania. Now the
Lithuanian pupils are going to finish it and it will be exhibited in the
school hall for the final project meeting.

made and sent to all the participating countries.

As in Lithuania Socrates Comenius programme is finishing its
first stage of the years 2000-2006, teachers from Kursenai Pavenciai
secondary school were invited to the final celebration. All the teachers
that participated in different Comenius projects at our school ("Energy", "MDM"
and "Our Living Environment: Today -Yesterday - Tomorrow") had an
opportunity to remember the good time they had while carrying out the
project activities.

Just before Christmas pupils from form
8a carried out the actvity "Christmas Tree: Today - Yesterday - Tomorrow".
They decorated Christmas tree in three different ways: present, past and
future.

Greatest thanks to all the participants of the project
who made beautiful video presentations about their Living Environment! As
they are too big in size, we can't put them on the website at present, but
we hope that in future we will be able to do this! Otherwise, we will send
CDs to all the participants.

Yesterday a big ceremony was held in
Vilnius, Lithuania, as a final event for the Socrates programme 2000-2006.
The great attention was paid to the importance of Comenius programme, its
achievements and its positive effect on European school cooperation.
Also, a new programme LLL (Life Long
Learning) was introduced. Let's hope that in future we will be able to
participate in it.

the project, inviting us to visit their homes and letting us get acquainted
with your living environment. We really enjoyed the time that we spent

the school, singing, hiking, having delicious
meals or just chatting and having fun!
